THE LEATHER ARCHIVE PROJECT
The Leather Archive Project is a sustainability initiative focused on value preservation and resource efficiency, carried out in 2020/2021 by Eduards Accessories in collaboration with RISE, the Swedish Research Institute, VGR Västra Götalandsregionen, and Nordic Leather Group, Uddevalla.
The Leather Archive Project is a limited edition of Eduards' signature collection "Näver," made from high-quality leather sourced from Nordic Leather's material stock in Uddevalla.
Eduards Accessories continuously works on the sustainability aspect of both individual products and the brand as a whole. We are proud to work exclusively with local production and aim to develop business models that contribute to more sustainable consumption patterns.
In The Leather Archive Project, we challenge the idea of the design process by starting from the treasure chest of high-quality material we have access to through close collaboration with RISE Sustainable Business (the Swedish Research Institute) and Nordic Leather in Uddevalla.
From a sustainability perspective, it is a significant gain to use materials that have already been produced and are in stock instead of creating new colors, meeting the tanneries' volume requirements, and producing batches of new leather.
