NÄVER AND FRIENDS: EDUARDS COMMUNITY

For us, bags are so much more than just accessories. We are happy to see our bags become your loyal companions through thick and thin. In "Näver & Friends," you can read about some of our wonderful friends, share their thoughts on sustainability, and see how Näver bags integrate into their daily lives and personal style.

MY NÄVER STORY - JESSICA

We meet up with Jessica on a warm August day. Her interest for history has led to a position as Curator for two of Gothenburg city’s museums.

"I love to learn about historical events and how they've influenced the development of the world. Politics, religion, technological progress, architecture and culture - all stories are connected."

Jessica carries two Näver bags; a black Mini Shoulder Bag and a Big Shoulder Bag in natural leather. Both bags are long loved companions, used for many years. The leather is soft and shiny and both bags show traces of everyday life.

"My Näver bags are always with me. I alternate the Näver Big and Näver Mini depending on what I need to bring with me for the day. My life hack is to put the petite Mini inside the Näver Big to easily switch when needed.

I feel most comfortable in a stylish, yet casual look and prefer to choose clothes in quality materials that I can wear for many years. My wardrobe goes mainly in navy and black and I love to liven up an outfit with earrings and accessories in bold colors.

To travel and meet other cultures is my great passion. Nothing can beat the feeling of entering a winding alley in a city centre full of history. Even when I’m not travelling, I’m dreaming about the next journey, setting routes and reading about new destinations. Planning makes me feel like I’m in the middle of an adventure, even though I’m just at home with a book on my couch."

MY NÄVER STORY - SUSANNA

We meet up with Susanna at Klippan's ferry stop in a light drizzle. On the other side of the river, in one of the office areas that have sprung up in the wake of the shipbuilding industry, she works as an Innovation Manager in mobility and sustainability.

Susanna carries her Näver Big Shoulder Bag in natural leather, a bag that has been by her side for almost 10 years. The light natural leather has darkened over the years and the leather shows traces of rain and sun. We immediately end up in a conversation about driving forces and challenges in terms of fashion, consumption and sustainability.

"Fashion is one of my passions. I love color and putting together garments and accessories to create something new, unique. For me, fashion is more about style than trend. Over the years I have experimented to find a personal expression that I feel comfortable in, both in my private and work life. By choosing garments in materials that age well and taking good care of my clothes, I build a personal and sustainable wardrobe.

Making long-term choices takes time and requires curiosity as well as perseverance. I’m interested in material and clothing care, I plan my purchases and search on circular sites for selected items that can last a long time in my wardrobe. My goal is to choose versatile garments and details that can be matched, dressed up, dressed down and be used for work and leisure, parties and everyday life."

MY NÄVER STORY - ANNA

We meet up with Anna and Johnny the Miniature Poodle in Nya Varvet by the docks of Gothenburg. The area, with old regimental buildings in pale tones, provides a perfect background for our conversation about how Anna's relationship to color affects her work as an interior designer. With 20 years in the profession and several prestigious assignments under her belt, Anna has developed a fine tuned sensitivity for choosing materials and colors.

” I generally like it when colors don’t quite match, when nuances break off slightly”, Anna says. ”What is not perfect get’s more interesting over time”.

Anna carries her Näver Big Shoulder Bag in Black leather and her Näver Small Shoulder Bag in Brick leather. Both bags have been used for a couple of years now and have beentreated with leather oil for nourishment and shine.

” I rotate my wardrobe over the year. To me, every season means a different color palette. During the winter I wear black with accents of vibrant colors and in summertime I wear mostly light and pale colors. For me, autumn and spring presents a wide palette of earthy tones such as rust, green, dirty pink and mustard yellow. This is when my Näver Small Shoulder Bag Brick pops, the brick-red color becomes distinct when styled with softer shades.

My Black Näver Big Shoulder Bag is my constant office companion. This bag carries all things needed for important meetings and looks just as corporate styled with classic black, pale neutrals or patterned outfits.

Identifying my favorite colors and choosing a few classical pieces that are easily combined with a vast color palette is my way of building a versatile wardrobe.”
